Walk in the steps of heroes at the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Guests can step aboard three museum ships: USS Yorktown CV-10, Essex-class aircraft carrier; USS Laffey DD-724, Sumner-class naval destroyer; and USS Clamagore SS-343, GUPPY III submarine. In addition, 29 aircraft are on display from conflicts ranging from World War II to present-day operations. The national Congressional Medal of Honor Museum is also currently located aboard the USS Yorktown. On the landside of the museum there is a true-to-scale exhibit of a Vietnam-era Naval Support Base (currently closed for renovations, reopening by Veterans Day 2014) and also a Cold War Sub Memorial.
