If you’re lucky enough to be able to attend multiple bridal shows and expos this year, congratulations! We are so happy for you and we hope the Georgia Bridal Show is one of the events on your list.
However, we know you might be feeling a little panicky, maybe even overwhelmed, about the amount there is to do to prepare for each event. And not to mention you still have to provide stellar service to all of your current clients!
Here are a few of our tips to help make the busy season a little more manageable.
Stay Organized with a Planner
You can choose to purchase a physical paper planner, keep a list on your phone, or use an online project management app such as Trello or Google Drive. No matter what you choose, it’s important to keep things organized. Start a list for each event you’re attending, and then write down what needs to be done, when it’s due, and who is responsible for it. Don’t forget to delegate! It’s impossible to prepare all on your own so don’t be afraid to hand off tasks to your employees. You might even be able to find a few family or friends that are interested in helping you.
Hire an Intern
Give someone who’s new to the trade a leg up by hiring an intern. It’s up to you whether you provide monetary compensation or have them complete a certain number of hours for school credit. Both ways, you’re getting some extra help and someone else is getting the opportunity to see how the wedding industry works.
You can have your intern help you at bridal shows and expos by transporting all your props, helping set up and tear down the booth, or managing newcomers to the booth while you’re talking to someone else.
They can also help manage your social media accounts so all your followers know that you’ll be at the event. Give them the guest list afterwards and they can start emailing all the brides you want to follow up with.
Don’t Stress About the Details
Everyone in the bridal industry will tell you that the details are the most important. Well, we’re going to go out on a limb here and say that sometimes it’s okay to forget the details. When you’re setting up your booth and realize you forgot to bring a vase to hold your giveaway tokens in, that’s okay! Find something else to repurpose, send your helper out on an errand, or get in touch with one of the event staff. We’ll be happy to help you find a suitable replacement!
